Peter Guilbert Family
Peter Guilbert was the son on of Cyril Guilbert(Gilbert)and Mathilda Bourdeau. He was born most likely in Alburg, Vermont. His family traveled back and forth frequently between Quebec and Vermont. Peter first settled in Vermont with his brother Alfred in 1897. Peter went by Guilbert to make sure that everyone would know that we was a French Gilbere and not an English Gilbert. He met his wife Anne E. Ledoux, daughter of Jean Baptiste Ledoux and Hermine Perrault in Swanton, Vermont where they were married. In Swanton and St Albans they had four sons: Remi Guilbert, Laurence Guilbert, Marcel Guilbert, and Joseph Alcid Guilbert. They all moved to Springfield, Massachusetts where Peter worked in B and D ChainCorp as an inspector. I was told my Grandmother that he was an inspector due to something that happened to his back and had a surgery that took out disks in his back. He died in 1943 and was buried in St. Micheal's Cemetery in Springfield, Massachusetts.
